Frosted Designs Space Blog Hop...

Hello Everyone!  Hope you are enjoying the Frosted Designs Crafting Space Blog Hop so far.  Isn't it fun to see where other's create?  I don't know about you but it always inspires me to rearrange something, make something more functional or just get out my stuff and create!

Now if you've joined us from Sarah's blog then you are on the right track.  If you are just joining us, hop on back to Frosted Designs to start from the beginning.

We recently moved houses and moving for me means cleaning out.  My boys and my best friend's kids benefitted from this move as I did a big clean out of my scrap space and gave them plenty of crafting supplies.  It doesn't hurt that I'm currently in the States stocking up on scrappy goodies and needed the space.  :)  Shhhh.....

I love my new scrap space.  I was going to have the biggest room in the house and in the end I took the smallest bedroom.  And I love it!!  It feels nice and cozy and when the sun is shining in, its really warm too, an essential for NZ and scrappy fingers.

My dad made these book shelves for me on his visit last year to New Zealand.  He made me 5 large ones and a half size one.  This room is so tiny that I only have two of the big ones and the small one.  They are my constant source of rearranging.  I love to find ways to better suit my needs, better places for things, and ways to make it appealing to the eye.

I love containers.  Boxes, bins, baskets.....any and all.  But I also like to be able to see what I have. First tip I have for you....I really believe that seeing what you have is essential for using what you have.  My favourite "go to" items are stored in these glass jars.  Lace, baker's twine, and my white and teal flowers.  These items are used on most all of my layouts.  I've collected more twine and spools on my trip, so I'm thinking another jar will be in order when I get home.  I love the way these jars can be functional and beautiful at the same time.

My glimmer mists are another of my favourites and something I use on every page. I remember when my best friend Kim first bought a couple mists.  I looked at them and thought "I'll never use those". I can't get enough of them.  These are my most often used mists and I have more in a box just waiting for me to make a home for them.  I found this crate while junk shopping with my best friend Lynne and was hoping it was perfect for my mists.  And it was!  Now we are going to find some old pallets and make our own boxes.  I'm thinking I need at least two more.  And my collection is only growing more.  Love my mists!  Second tip I have for you.....Put what you use the most at your finger tips.  This box sits right on my table right where I can grab the colour I need with no searching or digging around.

This small shelf (between the fire place chimney and the window) is an evolving one.  I have had a few different things on it and I'm sure its not done yet.  The white file drawer (right hand side of picture) is a school fair find.  It was grey before I spray painted it white.  It holds my doilies, photos, wee alphabets, wee word sticker sheets, and glue dots.  I love having it at my finger tips.  Once again, right where I can grab what I need.

My table is usually fairly neat.  Yes, it does become a bit more cluttered when I'm in the middle of a project.  I do clean up after each project though, even if I might use some of the same stuff for the next one.  A clean table not only gives me plenty of space, it helps keep my mind clutter free.  I find that helps me be more creative.

This is my blue glass collection.  The mason jars are functional as well holding my buttons and game piece letters.  Just another part of my room that makes me smile.

My space may be small but I've always got room for one more.  :)

Now, here is the rest of the blog line up.  Have fun hopping!!

Hope you've enjoyed the tour and feel inspired to scrap or reorganize.  :)  Next stop on your craft space tour is Sassy's blog.  Head on over there and enjoy the tour!  Don't forget to play along with the fabulous challenges on the Frosted Designs.  Make sure you link up your projects for the chance to win great prizes too.

Scrap Friends Colour challenge...

Hi Everyone!

I love this next colour pallet from Scrap Friends.  The rich colours are so pretty!

My take on the colour challenge is a book I've made for a special friend.  If you wanted, you could put a small photo inside of it.

This mist was just the exact colour I needed for this project.  Love my mists!

I really love these flowers.  They are fast becoming my favourites and end up on many of my projects.

Love this twine!!  It is one of my favourites and I always make sure I have some on hand.  Scrap Friends has got a great selection of twine in a variety of colours.  Make sure you check them out.

These words come in a variety of sayings and colours.  I think I have them all now and am just waiting for more to come out.  :)  I just love them!

Make sure you come check out the store at Scrap Friends for all their fabulous products.  Also make sure you link up your project to the blog for a chance to win a fabulous prize!!  Its a goodie!  :)

Scrap Friends...

Hi Everyone!

ScrapFriends has a new sketch challenge up for you.  This was a really fun sketch to play with.  I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

Here's the sketch........

I had these photos of Aden and just knew they would be perfect for this sketch.  He really is Mr. Personality.  He is in this stage right now where I ask for a smile and I get all sorts of funny faces.  At times it frustrates me but for the most part it just makes me laugh.  I am embracing it because this is Aden now.

All of my products used are listed as links to the store.  I really encourage you to check it out.  The products are fabulous and the prices unbeatable.

I just love these alphabet stickers.  They have a shiny surface to them and love the teal wood grain.  I'm pretty sure they will be in my "favourites" pile.  :)  The paper  I chose was a 6x6 pad.  I love the ticket page and cutting them up gave me more bang for my buck.  This paper is printed on kraft another love of mine.

And if you follow along with my projects, you know that baker's twine is an absolute must for me!  :)  I love using it on my projects.  This twine comes as a set of three.  It is one I've bought before and I'm sure to buy it again.

Glimmer mist is one of my all time favourites.  I love the way it adds just a subtle (or not so) detail to my pages.  This brown was a new colour to me and I am in love!

Such a fun sketch to play with!  But then again all the challenges at ScrapFriends are fun.  :)

I do hope you'll play along with the sketch challenge.  I'd love for you to link up your layout to the  ScrapFriends blog so I can check them out AND there is a $25 gift voucher to the store up for grabs.  Now who wouldn't want that?!

Happy Crafting!!  :)
